Rio Music Conference
January 2013. I appeared on a panel at this year’s Rio Music Conference which debated the merits of licensing events versus creating your own. This was a fascinating panel featuring some of Brazil’s most important promoters. The conference itself was hugely impressive, well attended and professionally produced so a big congratulations to the organisers and thank you Pedro and Claudio for the invitation.

Casa Brasil opens in London
July 2012. The London Olympics are finally here and as part of the cultural celebrations SRCOM have produced Casa Brasil for Rio 2016. Featuring exhibitions, screenings, events and music performances the house runs throughout the Olympic and Paralympic period.

Not forgetting plans closer to the UK...a brand new niche UK festival and a ground breaking touring festival concept for Europe. We've also been helping our partners SRCOM with brand activations for the Rio de Janeiro 2012 Olympic Live Sites which will relay all the action from London.

F1 Rocks São Paulo rocked
December 2011. F1 Rocks in São Paulo rounded of the 2011 season in sizzling style with a packed out live show from British pop sensation Jessie J and US soul diva Macy Gray. Making her first ever live appearance in Brazil with a headline appearance at the city’s stunning Via Funchal, and donning a purple wig and see-through body stocking, outlandish Jessie wowed her South American fans with her sassy and hugely individual take on pop. Jessie enthusiastically belted out the big hits that have propelled her to the forefront of the UK music scene, among them ‘Do It Like A Dude’, ‘Who’s Laughing Now’ and ‘Price Tag’. Much revered soul singer Macy Gray, no stranger to South American shores, did not disappoint by delivering a cool swagger of a show that brought out every bit of the charm her fans expected. Looking forward to 2012 already.

November 2011. I am incredibly happy to announce that my partners SRCOM together with Italian agency Film Master Group have been appointed executive producers for Rio 2016 Olympic ceremonies and major events. I am very proud to have been part of the bid team. It was a long and often stressful bid process but the final presentations were world class. Parabens to Flavio and the whole team.

F1 Rocks São Paulo
September 2011. F1 Rocks returns to São Paulo in 2011 in style with not one but two outstanding female stars in the shape of the ever-entertaining soul diva Macy Gray and one the year’s hottest rising stars, Jessie J. For certain this will be a great party to open the Formula 1 Grande Premio Petrobras Do Brasil. Macy Gray, with over 15 million albums sale, two Grammy Awards, two MTV awards and with ‘I Try’ one of the most successful singles of all time (taken from her multi-platinum debut album ‘On How Life Is’), certainly needs no introduction. Since storming the UK charts with debut single ‘Do It Like A Dude’ Jessie J has encountered a meteoric rise to fame. Chart topping follow up ‘Price Tag’ has become a global hit and earlier this year her debut album ‘Who Are You’ was a critical and commercial success. It's going to be a one of the years hottest gigs and the first of many F1 Rocks events in Brazil. I'm delighted, with my partners SRCOM and LED, to be bringing the brand back.

August 2011. It is with regret that I have to announce I am no longer associated in any way with the Groundswell Festival or Allez-oop Promotions. I am proud of the festival concept I created and line-up I put together. Watch this space for an imminent news announcement in Brazil and some exciting global plans for 2012.

World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro
July 2011. This month saw my Brazilian partners SRCOM produce a spectacular opening ceremony for the 5th edition of the World Military Games. With awe inspiring visuals, a moving historical narrative and a passionately performed message of peace and understanding this was a great dress rehearsal for Rio 2016. Parabens Flavio and the team.

Music Walk of Fame
January 2011. The Music Walk of Fame is a living, breathing cultural monument which recognises the contribution of global music icons and influencers. It will honour the truly iconic, from global legends to influential contemporary artists and the unsung heroes and industry figures whose ingenuity and passion have changed the face of popular culture today. This international music platform is officially partnered with the Hollywood Walk of Fame; which celebrates the great and the good from Hollywood's entertainment and film industry. At the epicentre of the platform lies a series of indelible stones which will be set in the heart of the UK's live music scene in Camden, London. The MWF will be brought to life by embracing the latest technology, turning the streets into the world’s first ‘Augmeum’ (augmented reality museum). This location will also be host to a series of events and performances surrounding the inaugurations. March 2010. I'm delighted to announce I'm working with my old friends at Ministry of Sound to develop an arena touring concept. The events will feature a mix of A list DJ's and live acts, cutting edge technology and staging techniques and re-creation of the world famous main room at the London club, 'The Box'. The events will initially take place in the UK and Europe but look out for more announcements for shows in China and Brazil later this year with further dates across Asia and South America in 2011. Any interested promoters, local partners or brands should contact me.

February 2010. Take a look at some artefacts from my archives. My life in music and live events began in small clubs and venues in Manchester in the late 1980's and early 1990's. This was a time of immense creative freedom and Manchester really felt like the centre of the musical universe. The Manchester District Music Archive is doing a fantastic job in preserving important cultural memories.

F1 Rocks Massive Global TV Audience - News Update

F1 Rocks Singapore!
September 2009. The inaugural F1 Rocks took place in Singapore from 24th to 26th September. Teaming up with some of the world's greatest stars, F1 ROCKS brought audiences an unforgettable music extravaganza with artists including, award-winning star Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, No Doubt, N*E*R*D, ZZ Top, Simple Minds, Jacky Cheung and A-Mei. The three-day spectacular proved to be an un-paralleled success, with a live audience of 27,000 fans. Two TV shows were produced; the first an hour-long music and entertainment show giving viewers access to the glamorous world of Formula One, featuring A-List music stars, drivers, celebrity interviews, unique performances and lifestyle features. The second a high-octane music special, showcasing the best of the live music performances. The two shows were broadcast in 172 territories worldwide to an estimated audience of 30 million people. Here comes 2010!

May 2009. I recently joined the team at All The Worlds, part of Universal Music Group International. All The World's mission is to create and co-invest with brands in annual global live music platforms that generate world class content and digital assets. My role in this ground-breaking business is to lead commercial and strategic relationships as well as developing the business in South America.

Westfield London Launch
October 2008. I was executive producer of Westfield London's magnificent launch program featuring London Major Boris Johnson, global superstar Leona Lewis, a twenty-piece orchestra, gospel choir and cutting edge fashion show. The program, spread over four days, also took in a plethora of music, entertainment and fashion and generated unprecedented global media exposure for an event of this nature. The slick production and unequalled logistical skills proved once again that Jack Morton Worldwide is the very best in the business. Credit due especially to Giles Cattle and Alec Braun.

September 2008. My first major campaign for Jack Morton Worldwide was the ingenious concept of digital curation featuring that design icon from the world of fashion, Valentino. The experience aimed to bring to life the work and world of Valentino providing an insight into his inspiration and unique technique. We created an interactive exhibition around London and New York Fashion Week as well as a celebrity packed launch event and a national retail campaign.
